Impact of Movies with messages in our life

In 8th grade, I was told I needed to remember poem from my book. I had to read it hundreds of time just to remember it long enough for my teacher to know that I have it memorized. It was 12-13 years back I guess. Today I only remember only half of it’s first line. Now, 15-16 years back movie starring Akshay Kumar, Raveena Tandon and Sunil Shetty came – Mohra. It had song – “Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast“. I had heard it couple of times only, and remembered whole song, and today after so many years, I still remember almost whole song even though I haven’t heard it for long time.

My point is simple – What you read and hear is different than What you see and feel part of.

We see many movies, and most of it all remembers because of interest we take in them, and situations created in movies, we also feel part of it, relate to it. We attach with emotions of movie and remember it for long time. But when you clap for good message in movie, do you yourself adopt that message in your life? Lets go over few movies, which had message for all and what’s my take on them.

  • Lage Raho Munna Bhai – Gandhigiri by use of nonviolence and love

In 21st century, sorry sir but I can’t present my 2nd cheek. You give me one, I will give you two. Hearts these days doesn’t melt too quick. If I keep taking, I will keep getting!

  • 3 Idiots – Education for Interest, Family freedom to follow dream

Parents may be flexible and allow you to follow your dream, but education system don’t think will be kind. Read 1000 page to use knowledge of 100 pages in whole life.

  • Taare Zameen Par – Go easy on Child, Not all can get 100 out of 100

Parents still are waking kids to force them in studying hours even after school, so this was a waste of time!  And if kid doesn’t sit right away, gets good Whooping!

  • Rang De Basanti – Young Generation needs to stand against corruption

In population of Billion, half are part of this corruption, some do, and some let them do by offering. No chance unless meteor hits earth and wipes out part of that population.

I can go over many more, but for now this is all. All I want to say is, while we watch movie, sympathize with it’s story and message, and want that to happen in reality, but soon as we step out of theater or movie ends, reality is just as it was before movie started. We all understand what’s right and wrong, but still due to nature of society and responsibilities of own, here and there we give this good messages a miss. It sounds good in movie, but in real life, its hard to adopt. We do carry all messages in heart, but that’s only where it stays.

  1. It is nice point of view. It does not mean it does not affect your life. There would be no inspiring people. Gandhi may not affect our life. He did Nelson mandela’s. What about Martin Luther King. Please watch english movie called radio. the main character sees something it affeccts him for his whole life and he does something, when he can. If we think we can not change anything, there is no point in learning. my humble comments
